Ms. Maaze was born in Recife, Brazil. She came to America in 2008. She speaks Portugese, English, Spanish, and some Norwegian and Swedish. She started teaching ELD 3 at BHS in 2012, and she has been the Multilingual Program Coordinator since 2018-2019. The most important part of her job is to support all MLP students, families, and teachers. She also organizes field trips and community building activities for MLP students, and is responsible for testing the English proficiency of multilingual students at BHS. Some of her favorite MLP memories include all the birthday and holiday celebrations in the M building and in the cafeteria. Ms. Maaze is married and has a 6-year old daughter named Valentina. Some of her favorite things to do are practicing yoga and zumba, reading, watching movies, swimming, and spending time with her family and friends. She feels lucky to be a part of the Multilingual Program because it has a beautiful and strong community, where students from all over the world are eager to learn and to support one another like one big family. One thing you should know about Ms. Maaze is that kindness, empathy and respect are very important values in her class and in the Multilingual Program as a whole. She loves all MLP students and is always ready to help them.
