You must have an email message and data extension ready prior to following this guide. Please refer to these documents for step-by-step directions.

You can initiate the send process by doing any of the following:
From Content Builder
Click the [ ▾ ] arrow in the content list
Click Send in the drop-down menu

Click the email in Content Builder
In the details screen, click [ Send ] at the top right
The Define Properties tab allows you to preview the email you have selected
Note: By default, the Subject and Preheader are inherited and saved from the selected email. Edits made to the subject or preheader here only applies to this send.

Click subject text to edit (optional)
Click [ Done ]
Preheader
Click preheader text to edit (optional)
Click [ Done ]
From Options
Saved Send Classification
Leave Default Commercial selected
Select a Sender Profile (optional)
Leave Delivery Profile as default unit
Click [ Next ▸ ] at the top right
Click Data Extensions in the left sidebar
Individual data extensions will appear in the center panel
If your data extension is stored in a subfolder, click the [ ▸ ] arrow next the Data Extension folder in the left sidebar to expand the list
Select the folder that contains your target audience
Drag-and-drop your data extension from the center panel to the Targeted box on the right
Select Publication List window
Leave All Subscribers checked
Click [ Select ]
Depending on the email send, repeat Step 2 to locate your Opt Out group
Drag-and-drop your Opt Out data extension to the Excluded and Suppressed box on the right (optional)
Click [ Next ▸ ] at the top right
*Note: Marketing Cloud is configured to auto-suppress audience members whose profiles include “No Contact” and “No Email” special handling criteria at both the UC and Unit-specific levels.
The Configure Delivery tab lets you set the desired timing of your sends and configure additional delivery options
Send Timing
Send Immediately: Email sends immediately after you review and send it
Schedule: Email sends on the selected date and time, which must be in the future
Click the Select Date field to select delivery date
Click the Select Time field to select delivery time
Advanced Options
Leave Track Click checked
Leave Send Tracking Results to Sales Cloud checked
Leave Multipart MIME checked
Leave Suppress From Send report unchecked
Leave Tracking Destination Folder as my tracking
Click [ Next ▸ ] at the top right
From the Review and Send tab, you see configurations made in the previous three tabs and confirm that all information is correct and ready to send
Hover over any blue text to view more information
Hover the From Name to display all From Options information for that specific From Name
Hover over selected audiences to display the full folder path for those audiences.
Click the checkbox next to “This information is correct and this email is ready to send.”
Click [ Send ] to send the email immediately
-OR- Click [ Schedule ] to send the email based on your Send Timing configuration
If you schedule an email send but need to make changes, follow these steps to cancel the send
Click Overview in the top navigation bar
In the right Sends panel, click the | Pending | tab
Click the blue text email name
Classic Content screen
Click Cancel Send button
Click [ OK ]
