From the Email Overview screen
Hover over Subscribers ▾ in the top navigation bar
Click Data Extensions in the drop-down menu
In the left sidebar, under Data Extensions, the Data Extensions root folder should be selected by default
Click Contact_Master data extension*
At the top right, click the Filter button (looks like a funnel)
*The master data extension always begins with Contact_Master followed by the name of your business unit, e.g. Contact_Master_International_House
Drag and drop Fields from the left column to the Create Filter canvas
Select an AND or OR operator. You can group your criteria by hovering over the grouping operator so that it turns a darker blue, and click to change the operator
If you choose AND, records must meet all criteria listed
If you choose OR, records must meet at least one of the criteria listed
Additional Data Relationships fields can be found at the bottom of the Fields column
Click [ Save & Build ] button at top right
Enter a Name
Enter a Description (optional)
Leave External Key blank
Location
Select a folder in which to store the filtered data extension, or click [ New Folder ] to create a new folder
Click [ Save ]
Instead of starting by clicking Contact_Master in the Data Extensions screen, you can also create a new filtered data extension by following these steps.
From the Data Extensions Screen
Click [ Create ] button at top right
Select Filtered Data Extension
Click [ OK ]
Select Contact_Master data extension as the source data extension
Click [ OK ]
Proceed to “Create Filtered Data Extension” steps listed above

Click the Filter button in the Contact_Master row
Proceed to “Create Filtered Data Extension” steps listed above
