Project 2:
Expressive Origami
Expressive Origami
Form Follows Emotion
Design is more than function and aesthetics. We will explore this further next week but for today's assignment please keep in mind the 10th rule of good design: “Good design is less design.”
Origami is centuries old but still has the power to amaze us and cause wonderment, Why?
The magic lies in the transformation of a very simple material and through very simple manipulation (scoring and folding), transforming a planer 2D surface into 3D form.
Craftsmanship is needed in the design prototyping, deliberate actions of forming materials such as cutting and folding allow for accurate interpretations of the concept and form.
