Twitchell Island East End Restored Wetland
East End wetland was established on Twitchell Island in 2013 on a former corn field. This is an extensive wetland on peatland soils. The ecosystem vegetated naturally and fairly quickly.

While the site is a strong methane source, the deployment of multiple towers has enabled us to examine how soil properties, driven by historic geomorphology, modulate methane production.
