This program is designed for people who are practicing school psychologists and those who will have completed their internship by the start date of the program (June 11, 2026). Please note that the application requires you to provide necessary information to verify that you are eligible to participate in this program (e.g., state where your School Psychologist certificate, credential or license is held and name on the documentation, NCSP information)
Passing the PASEO exam prior to Friday, January 30th, 2026. In order to sign up for the exam please follow this link and choose the “Berkeley BRIDGE program”. You will then be prompted to choose if you would like to be assessed using a vignette on an Intellectual Disability case or a Specific Learning Disability case. Because this program is primarily taught in Spanish, this exam ensures that all participants will be able to access content knowledge.
The Berkeley Bilingual School Psychology certificate program is a competency-based, virtual program. Between the Summer Intensive and academic year Coaching, the program provides a total of 121 hours of synchronous instruction and coaching, and an additional 27 hours of asynchronous work. Participants must complete all course requirements to obtain their certificate, and if applicable NASP CPD and passing grades for Dominican University of California Extension Semester Units.
Successful completion of this program requires participants to:
Attend and participate in all live, synchronous sessions
Complete all assigned asynchronous work to prepare for class
Complete all five portfolio assignments with rubrics scores of competent or higher
Present two case conceptualizations during coaching sessions
Provide meaningful feedback to peers during synchronous and asynchronous opportunities
Computer with reliable microphone, camera, screen share capability and speakers/headphones.
Internet at a high enough speed to enable smooth and consistent video and audio communication.
The Summer Intensive is taught on Barco WeConnect. We will hold a mandatory “Tech Check” event before the beginning of the program to ensure that all participants have been able to generate an account and use all functionalities of the platform.
Coaching is done via Zoom. Please ensure that your computer allows for Zoom to be downloaded.
Some software (e.g., the C-LIM) will be shared and used during the program. Please ensure that you can download and use excel files on your computer. **Please note that not all district computers allow downloading**
Course materials will be on a sponsored Canvas account. Participants will be walked through how to use the platform and are encouraged to download relevant resources.
If there are technical difficulties beyond the program’s control at any point, arrangements will be made to make up missed sessions.
