A: Yes, as long as your credential/license/certificate is current. We strongly suggest you look through the artifacts to ensure that you will be able to demonstrate your learning through these activities in your current role.
A: Unfortunately, we only have a Spanish/English dyad offering at this time. Passing the Spanish language competency exam is a pre-requisite for admission.
A: Because this program is primarily taught in Spanish, this exam ensures that all participants will be able to access content knowledge.

A: By passing a Spanish language competency exam (administered by PASEO a partner organization), with an emphasis on professional language for school psychologists.
A: In order to sign up for the exam please follow this link and choose the “Berkeley BRIDGE program”. You will then be prompted to choose if you would like to be assessed using a vignette on an Intellectual Disability case or a Specific Learning Disability case.
A: Great! You will recieve a confirmation email from PASEO with a link to sign up for a live testing appointment. You can pick a date that works best for you, but please note that there is limited availability, so please register early!
A: While PASEO has review materials for mental health work in Spanish, please do not feel the need to purchase these. The exam is a vignette of your choosing (ID or SLD case) where you will recieve written details in Spanish a set amount of time before the exam to reivew, and the on a live, virtual video call mock common conversations in a school psychologist's work (e.g., explaining confidentiality, an IEP or eligibiltiy; discussing developmental history). The exam is proctored by a bilingual school or clinical psychologist and co-scored.
A: PASEO is currently charging $200 for this exam that was designed for our program.
A: The 2026-27 cohort of this certificate program will begin with the summer intensive June 11-July 8, 2026; Monday-Friday 9-1:45pm (PST) with the exception of June 19th and July 3rd.
Applications are due in January 30, 2026 and applicants will be informed of their admittance mid-February 2026. Passing the Spanish langauge exam will be required prior the application due date.
A: The cost of this year-long program is $5,750, due on March 10, 2026 unless a payment plan has been established.
A: Unfortunately we do not have any discounts or scholarships at this time.
A: Not yet! We are working on an option for folk who believe they already possess all the required competencies to submit a Porfolio. The work would be reviewed and evaluated by program faculty for a fee. However, we are not there yet.
A: Yes! Half of our current cohort was sponsored by their district or SELPA. We strongly suggest opening this conversation with them. Once you have been admitted, we will discuss the deatils of how to pay directly via check, and are happy to support if a purchase order is needed.
A: Great thinking to partner with your district! We have created this template letter to modify and personalize to gain support. We also encourage you to invite district personnel to one of our information sessions so that they can better understand the scope and depth of the program, as well as ask any questions they may have.
A: Participants have the option to purchase up to 9 units from Dominican University of California at a cost of $55/unit (this cost is not included in program tuition).
A: Yes, the UC Berkeley School Psychology Program is a NASP approved CPD provider.
A: At this time, the certificate will be issued by the Berkeley School of Education.
