This virtual program is for credentialed school psychologists who are bilingual (Spanish/English) who are interested in developing the competencies required to more effectively meet the needs of Spanish speaking students and the systems that serve them. This program features a 18-day summer intensive and year-long coaching with the teaching faculty to support the development of a cumulative program portfolio.
Provide training for practicing school psychologists who are bilingual in English and Spanish with the goal of enhancing their ability to provide evidence-based services to multilingual learners whose heritage language is Spanish.
Introduce participants to contemporary research and enhance their ability to understand and adopt evidence-based educational and psychological practices in school settings.
Provide 4-weeks of on-line instruction (4 courses total) in the Summer
Coach participants virtually the following school-year to ensure that participants have on-going support as they implement and apply what they learned.
Support participants in completing a capstone portfolio of independent professional activities that will demonstrate competency in all areas of the bilingual school psychology.
Provide the option for participants to purchase Extension Semester Units through Dominican University of California
Complete the required application
Hold a valid credential/license/certificate in School Psychology from a state credentialing body
Submit an application by January 30, 2026
Pass the Spanish language competency exam offered by PASEO by January 30, 2026
Be able to attend all 4 summer courses (synchronous, virtual) in full
Commitment to attend bi-weekly coaching sessions throughout the 2026-27 school year (virtual)
