City of Origin

by Oscar Lin

I am from the city of dreams,

The city that never sleeps.

From the repetitive beeping of cars to the neverending smell of hot dogs and pretzels.

With an occasional salt breeze of the Hudson mixed with pollution.

I am from a house that strives for success.

From a family of tough love that does not enjoy average,

That pushes me to my limit.

That does not settle for less.

I am from the mindset of hard workers.

From the frequent all nighters to better myself.

To the joy from learning and creating.

To all the devices without entertainment on them.

To a dream college that seems to become closer and closer.

From a big city to a small town.

From a place with constant excitement.

To a town with little to no noise.

That has nicer people.

I am from a concrete jungle with soaring skyscrapers.

From a city of style and fashion.

A city made for business.

A city filled with dreams.
