Infinite

by Rashidah Manongdo

Your fingers are like Saturn.

Grey rings imprinting

marks on your skin,

Clutching each finger

Like they can’t get enough

Of touching you.

Your eyes are black holes,

Drawing in everything they see.

Addictive and exhilarating,

The result of a supernova so mighty,

That a galaxy was born.

Your hair wears a crown of asteroids,

A circlet of celestial bodies

Blessed to wrap around your vinous locks,

A glorious gift,

To sit so close to you.

Your skin is littered with stardust,

Planets freckle your shoulders

You are vast,

In both mind and body,

Even the sun’s light

Cannot touch all that you have.

Being with you

Is intoxicating,

Like drinking up a glass

Of pure atmosphere,

Like bathing in the color

Of a thousand galaxies,

Like taking the first steps

Onto an uncharted planet

You are,

A cosmical wonder,

Consuming me

In your numinous blaze,

Breathy words,

And starlit touches,

You,

Truly are

Infinite.
