Internship opportunities provide students with career-building experiences. Students are matched with a company or organization identified by the Co-op Coordinator that allows them to explore a field often out of reach for high school students. Through these experiences, students build both job-readiness habits and career-driven skills. Students participate in internship for 3-6 hours each week, earning industry credentials and high school credit toward graduation.
Work Study opportunities provide students with a way to learn and earn during the school year. Focused on job readiness, students work with the Co-op Coordinator collaboratively to find a job that will allow them to build strong workforce habits while earning income during the school year. Participants work 15-20 hours each week and are paid for their time. Externship placements need not be connected to a student’s future career plans.
Pre-Apprenticeship opportunities are learn-to-earn programs. Students apply to a pre-apprentice program shared by the Co-op Coordinator. During the program, students acquire industry credentials, get hands-on experience, and earn income. Students participate in pre-apprenticeship programs for 9-12 hours each week, earning high school credit toward graduation and getting access to employers and apprenticeship opportunities at the end of the experience.
