This pathway is the most straightforward, consisting of proficient or higher scores on the three required Keystone exams.
Proficient or Advanced Algebra 1

Proficient or Advanced Literature

Keystone Composite
By 11th Grade
This pathway consists of a blend of scores on the three required Keystone exams.
At least 1 Keystone score is Proficient or Advanced
No score is Below Basic
Composite Keystone Score is 4452 or Greater
OR
Alternate Assessment
* Prior to Graduation
This pathway offers flexibility through a combination of assessments, pre-apprenticeship programs, and higher education. 1 piece of evidence from the following:
Attainment of one alternative assessment score or better: ACT (21), ASVAB AFQT (31), PSAT/NMSQT (970), or SAT (1010)
Attainment of 3 or better on AP Exam(s) related to each Keystone content area in which less than Proficient
Successful completion of dual enrollment course(s) related to each Keystone content area in which less than Proficient
Successful completion of a pre-apprenticeship program such as CHIP, Career Study, Work Study, Gifted Mentorship
Acceptance into 4-year Institution of Higher Education (IHE) for college-level coursework
OR
Evidence-Based
* Prior to Graduation
This pathway uses evidence to demonstrate readiness, approved by the High School. 3 pieces of evidence from the following:
• Attainment of 630 or better on any SAT Subject Test
• Attainment of 3 or better on any AP Exam
• Successful completion of any dual enrollment or post-secondary course
• Industry-recognized credentialization
• Acceptance into an other-than-4-year Institution of Higher Education (IHE) for college-level coursework
*No more than two from the following:
• Attainment of Proficient or Advanced on any Keystone Exam
• Successful completion of a service-learning project
• Letter guaranteeing full-time employment or military enlistment
•Completion of an internship or externship
• Compliance with NCAA Division II academic requirements
* In the event that results from an Alternative Assessment or evidence from the Evidence-Based Pathway is not received prior to graduation, a student's diploma will not be conferred. All required documentation must be received by the end of the summer of the student's graduating year.
Effective with the graduating class of 2023, PA students have the option to demonstrate post-secondary preparedness through one of the pathways that more fully illustrate college, career, and community readiness.
