Choosing a career is a process; it's not a decision to be made overnight. A career that's perfect for one person may be totally wrong for another. You need to choose a career that's going to be good match for you! Our CCR counselors are here to provide you with valuable insights and meaningful conversations as someone who knows you well.
Researching Careers
The CCR Department has many resources available to help explore various careers you're interested in. Naviance, is a college and career readiness platform that allows you to take various self assessments as the first step to determining your interest. Below are some valuable resources that provide excellent information on hundreds of careers.

1. Log into Naviance using your email address and password
2. Once you get to the Naviance/Student Homepage, click on the About Me tab near the top right of the page. Then highlight My Assessments where you will see 3 survey options: Strengths Explorer, Career Interest Profiler and Career Interest Finder.
Under the Careers tab you will see Roadtrip Nation – Use this tool to create your own road trip to your career based upon your interests. Roadtrip Nation sends students on road trips to interview leaders who have built their lives and careers around their interests.
This book provides the most recent date on hundreds of careers. The information from the Occupational Outlook Handbook can be found online at www.bls.gov/ooh. On this website you are able to learn about specific careers and/or do a search to find the careers that might be right for you.
Using the Occupational Outlook Handbook for Your Career Search
Students have the opportunity their senior year to take an Internship Elective Course. During quarter 1, students develop and sharpen transferrable skills that can be utilized across industries and sectors. After quarter 2, students are placed in internships throughout the City of Philadelphia and within Belmont Charter Network allowing for opportunities for real world application of course content.
