Chapter History
The Belle Plaine FFA chapter started in 1930, and since then there have been numerous accomplishments and memories made. During our history, we have had two members go on to be state officers, and many others be district officers. Our most recent advisors have been Scott Frank, Josh Day, Steve Eskildsen, and John Daniels.
1950 Belle Plaine Chapter
In 1950, there were 30 members in our Belle Plaine FFA chapter, I am happy to say that since then we have had major growth with not only getting more members involved but also welcoming females to join.
1950 National Convention
In the picture shown above you can see the 1950 Belle Plaine officer team attending National Convention, in Kansas City. The advisor during this time was Mr. Bussey.
1950 State Convention
In 1950 there were about 15 members attending State Convention. This group is shown above.
Document of honored members
the document to the left was signed by members that "have been truly recognized as members of an incorporated chapter."
The members that signed this paper were members that were very involved, and cared about the future of agriculture.
During 1950, this is how they recognized these amazing members and showed them that they were thankful for all the work they put into the Belle Plaine FFA chapter.
Chapter Sweetheart
One past tradition from our chapter was granted a "Chapter Sweetheart" around the time of Valentine's Day. In the photo to the right, Donna Trueblodd was chosen to be the Chapter Sweetheart. When given this title, she received a white corduroy jacket with the title "chapter sweetheart" on the front, and the FFA logo on the back.
