Google Devices: Which one do you have?
This page is for a Google TV or Android TV streamer, stick or box that plugs into your TV's HDMI port and comes with its own remote. For example: Onn, Google TV Streamer, Chromecast with Google TV, and other similar streamers.
Smart TVs with Google TV or Android TV built in are not supported. We can only help with a streamer that plugs into the TV.Â
How to tell: a streamer is a small stick or box. One end plugs into your TV's HDMI port. The other end has a USB power cable. It has its own remote.
Buying an Onn? Buy it in person, in a local store that sells them where you live. Onn devices are tied to the region they are sold in, so ones bought online or from another country may not work.
Part 1: Get ready
1. Plug your streamer into your TV and connect it to your Wi-Fi.
2. Sign in with a Google account when it asks. If you do not have one, the setup screen will help you make a free one.
3. Need help with the device itself? Ask the store you bought it from, or the maker of the device.
Part 2: Pick your app (it is all about storage)
Storage is how much room the device has for apps.
OTT PRO is for devices with 8 GB of storage. It is the light app. It does not download VOD.
Examples: Onn HD stick (8 GB), Onn 4K stick (8 GB), Google TV Streamer HD (8 GB).
Splash Player is for devices with 16 GB up to 32 GB of storage. It has a faster processor and can download VOD.
Examples: Onn 4K Pro (32 GB), Google TV Streamer 4K (32 GB), and other similar Google or Android streamers with a remote.
This is a guide, not a hard rule. If you pick the other one, that is fine. We will help you fix it.
Part 3: Not sure how much storage you have?
Two ways to find out.
Way 1: Check in Settings
1. Press the Home button on your remote.
2. Go to Settings (the gear icon, top right).
3. Open System, then Storage. Look at the total number. You can also open System, then About, to see the device name and model.
Your screen may look a little different. That is OK. Look for the words Storage or About.
Way 2: Send us a photo
Still not sure? Take a photo of your screen with your phone and email it to us. We will tell you which one to use.
Then choose your app:
