If you have an older Fire Stick (HD, Lite, 1st Gen, 2nd Gen, or 3rd Gen), OTT PRO is the right app for you. It is light and made to run smoothly on older devices.
Note: older Fire Sticks may have an older home screen. If you don't see a menu at the top left, look for Settings (gear icon) along the top of the screen instead.
Step 1: Get Ready
Turn on your TV and your Fire Stick. Make sure it is connected to the internet. You should see the Fire TV home screen.
Step 2: Clear Space on Your Fire Stick
Older Fire Sticks have little memory. You need at least 1 GB of free space, or OTT PRO may buffer or crash.
Go to Settings (gear icon), then Applications, then Manage Installed Applications.
Look through the list and uninstall old apps you no longer use.
The more you clear, the smoother OTT PRO will run.
Step 3: Update Your Fire Stick
Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then About.
Select Check for Updates (or Install Update). If an update is found, let it download and install. Your Fire Stick may restart.
Check again until it says it is up to date.
Step 4: Turn On Developer Options (The 7-Click Tweak)
This is a one-time setting. It unlocks a hidden menu we need.
Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then About.
Highlight the top line, your Fire TV name.
Press SELECT 7 times fast on your remote. A message will say you are now a developer, or that you already are. Either is fine.
Press BACK once. You are now in My Fire TV.
You will now see Developer Options in the list. (On some older sticks it was already there.)
Step 5: Check the Permission Setting
Select Developer Options.
Select Install Unknown Apps.
It may say no applications are installed. That is normal. We have not installed Downloader yet.
This is the permission list. Later, Downloader will show up here, and it needs permission to install OTT PRO. Right now we are just making sure this setting is unlocked and ready.
Very old Fire Stick? You may see one switch called Apps from Unknown Sources instead of a list. If so, turn it ON and you're done with this step.
Click OK, then press BACK several times to return to the home screen.
Step 6: Install the Downloader App
Downloader is a free app manager. It downloads and installs apps that aren't in the Amazon store. Amazon allows it in its own app store.
On the home screen, select Search (the magnifying glass).
Use the letters to spell Downloader.
Be careful: there are copycat apps. Only choose Downloader by AFTVnews (orange logo).
Select it and click Get or Download to install it.
Step 7: Enter the Code and Download OTT PRO
Open the Downloader app.
Click into the URL/Code box in the center of the screen.
Type in the code: 8632119
Click GO. Wait a few seconds for the file to download, then click INSTALL.
A window may pop up. It says, for your security, your TV is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source. Don't worry, this is expected.
Click Settings in that window.
Find Downloader in the list and turn it ON.
Press BACK once. You will be right back at the INSTALL button.
Click INSTALL again, just like the first time. This time it will finish.
Step 8: Open OTT PRO
When the install finishes, click OPEN. You will see the login screen on your TV.
You are at the login screen. Great job, stop here. Do not type anything yet.
Press the Home button on your remote to leave the app.
Go back to the email you have with us and tell us you are at the login screen.
Wait for our reply. It has your next steps.
