Hello and welcome to Stud House.
This is my fourth year in Stud and at Bede’s, and I can assure you it is a thriving and caring environment. Throughout my time in Stud as a junior and now Head of House I continue to see some key values that remain in Stud, one of the most important for me is brotherhood. Time and time again I see brotherhood and inclusivity throughout Stud life. During my time at Bede’s I have been able to enjoy being myself without ever feeling guilty for it. My deputies, Josh and Hamish, and I, will carry on giving our all in making sure that brotherhood and a caring environment remains our main focus. We will make sure that you are able to be who you are, unapologetically and support you to become the best adult version of yourself.

Keep your room tidy and respect each other’s property.
Get involved in House activities—relax and have fun!
Get your prep done first—prioritise this and don’t put things off and get behind.
If you do ever get behind, ask for help from your teachers or tutor.
If you are feeling ill, talk to matron or a member of staff straight away. If you are ill during the night, ring on the residential staff’s doorbell who is on duty.
Use your lockable cupboard for your tuck.
Communicate! Don’t bottle things up—you are part of a family and there are lots of people to help.
Get to know the Matrons and Housekeeping staff—they do a wonderful job and you can make their life easier by keeping yourself smart and your room tidy.
Hand in money, passports and valuables to Mr Jones.
Treat House Prefects with respect—they are there to guide and help you.
Entirely student-led, at the first stage individual councils represent the views of students in every day and boarding house in weekly House Council meetings. The House Councils ensure that the voice of every student in every year group is heard. Beyond the House Councils, the four School Council sub-committees focus on Academic, Pastoral, Co-Curricular and Social issues.
The work of the sub-committees has led to new Student Travel plans and bus routes, changes in teacher assessment and curriculum structure and improved provision in a range of student support issues - from UCAS applications and work experience to building developments and advancements in IT infrastructure.
Lastly, the Senior School Council, chaired by the Head of School, sees issues dealt with at every level. Minutes for these meetings are then published to all students and staff.
At Bede's, we want all of our pupils to express their views, ask questions and challenge conventional wisdoms.
A representative from the House of each year group is nominated each term to join the House Council.
