Skylar, Mrs. Krueger's 5th Grade Class
Hi! My name is Skylar. I have an interesting story to tell. It's about my mouth. When I was in 3rd grade, I had an extraction to pull out my front tooth. The extraction went well and I was happy. 2 years later, (present time) in 5th grade, my tooth hasn't come in. So, I had to get braces and a surgery. October 10, 2018 I came out of the dentist office with braces. I was not looking forward to November 8, 2018 that is when my surgery was scheduled. November came and I was scared. They had to cut open my gum and attach a chain to my tooth and braces. All I remember was a stuffed dog, a cozy blanket and some gross medicine. Then I fell asleep. I woke up and couldn't walk. But that's not the point! The point is I had to be brave. And it paid off! My tooth is coming in! So, if you need to face a challange, be brave.

Ana-cecilia 2nd Grade Mrs.Brous
Hi! My name is Ana-cecilia, and today I am going to talk about my fear. I am afraid of heights. When I was in first grade, I went to a big park with my family in Morocco. When I first went to the park, I was excited about going down the slides except, when I looked at the slides they were very high up. I felt nervous, and scared about going down the slides. I didn't feeling like going down the slides anymore, but my mom encouraged me to because she believed in me. She helped me climb the stairs connecting to the slides, and she got ready to push me off. My heart was beating really fast, but I was ready. My mom slowly pushed me onto the slide, I was screaming for my life, but I knew i had to be brave. I was in shock that I went down on such a big slide. In the end, I felt happy and accomplished. I am brave.
Lily 2nd Grade Mrs.Brous
Hi, my name is Lily and I will be telling you about how I was brave. I went to Disneyland last year and there was a scary-looking roller-coaster so, I went with my dad to ride it even though I was kind of nervous about riding it. Luckily, I overcame that fear and I rode the fast roller-coaster. It turns out it wasn’t that scary! The only part that was terrifying were the drops. But overall, it was really fun. I learned that trying new things and overcoming your fears can help in later life. After riding it I was pretty happy I tried the ride.
Evelyn 2nd Grade Mrs.Brous
I am a second grader at Scholls Heights Elementary, and this is my story showing how I was brave. I was waiting for my brother to get his teeth done, I was feeling really scared as I was walking into the office. I got on the bed, it was pretty soft. It kind of relaxed me but I was still pretty scared. I was just about to get shot in my gums. The dentist walked me through what was going to happen, I had to have a mask on my face and I had to breathe very slowly. Luckily, I got to watch a movie, it was spider-man. Then I got my shots. Then I realized that getting my shot wasn’t that scary. I was brave that day and I am glad.
Desmond 2nd Grade Mrs.Brous
Hi my name is Desmond and I am in Mrs. Brous’s 2nd grade class. Today I am here to talk about the time where I got my cavity filled. I was nervous and sad. I was not happy that I was getting my cavity filled. In a 20 minute phase my mom took a picture and it was really funny. It took an hour for them to fill it in. I had to wait for a really long time. The dentist told me that she put “diamonds” in my tooth. After the dentist filled my cavity my mom took me jamba juice. I couldn’t eat anything for 2-6 hours but I still had a great day.
Bear, Mrs Brous 2nd grade
Hi, my name is Bear and I am going to tell you about a time I was brave. One day I was at Mcdonalds and I was scared to go on the bridge. It was scary because it would move up and down once I stepped on it. But I overcame my fear and I stepped on it and walked across. When I got across I felt proud that I did it. So when you need to overcome something, just do it!
Olivia 2nd Grade Mrs.Brous
Hi! My name is Olivia and this is my story. I was walking with my dad and I went on my scooter. When I was going down the hill I tried using my breaks and they didn’t work. I jumped off of it while I was falling and I wasn’t wearing a helmet to protect my head. At that moment my dad angrily told me “You see this is what happens when you aren’t being careful.” I felt embarrassed, angry and scared when he said that. I was being brave because I fearlessly jumped off of my scooter.
Khole 2nd Grade Mrs.Brous
Great Wolf Lodge
My dad and I were walking into the water area and we wanted to go in the pool but then we saw these two tall guys and they told us to go on the red and yellow tall slide. Then they told us about it and they said that it was small at the beginning and then got bigger near the end and middle. Then they said that once you got to the middle you would go side to side. After they told me that I got scared to go on it. So then I got together and I went on the slide. Once I got on it I screamed the whole way down!
