The role of the Building Administrator(s)
Welcome and provide building orientation to new staff members
Observe, provide feedback and evaluate the Mentee in accordance with BSD Teacher Evaluation systems and tools.
Understand that the Mentor Program is confidential in nature. While Building Administrators are welcome to communicate with Mentors, the program is teacher driven.
Building Administrator(s) responsibilities
Welcome and Onboarding
Provide opportunities for welcoming and introducing Mentees to the school community.
Share any building specific practices and/or policies that pertain to the role of the Mentee.
Communication
Read communication from the Mentor Program and share information about school initiatives that may be beneficial to the Mentor as they support Mentees.
Check in with Mentees to answer questions and inform them of upcoming responsibilities.
Explain the on-site support available to Mentees. Make sure they know the support systems in place, in addition to their Mentor.
