Fee Details
$250 for first-year participants
$300 for returning participants
A family cap of $500 if you have multiple children on the team.
A Hotel charge per night of hotel tournaments each child attends.
The family cap does NOT apply for hotel charges.
For the 2024-25 school year students who attended all 4 hotel nights paid ~$300 in hotel fees at the end of the season.
For the 2025-2026 season, we are planning travel with possibly up to 6 hotel nights' worth of tournaments. The final cost will vary depending on the price of the accommodations we book. The hotel fees will be collected at the end of the season after the State tournament.
Between the activity charge and the hotel fees the only remaining monetary cost to families are discretionary funds for concession lunches/food court stops at or to tournaments. If the team buys a bulk order of pizza/sandwiches/Chinese, that is included in your dues.
Dues cover:
Subscriptions to news sources
Team shirts and/or hoodies
Hired judges & additional coaching opportunities with recent graduates
Snacks for Monday meetings
Team activities including outings, the banquet, and end of year awards
Group meals during long distance tournaments
Travel to long distance tournaments (Cleveland and Youngstown)
How to Pay
After completing the "Sign-up" Google Form to indicate an interest to join the team, $150 will be charged to the students' online portal via PaySchools Central.
There is a credit card fee if you pay online, therefore, your child may pay by a check written to “Beavercreek City Schools” with “Speech and Debate Dues” in the memo line.
The check must be in an envelope with your child’s name and given to the front desk at BHS. No coach works at BHS as a teacher, therefore physical checks must go to directly to the BHS front office.
Hotel fees will be charged once towards the end of the school year; the amount will vary depending on how many hotel tournaments your child attended and what the cost was for each weekend. The amount will be collected via PaySchools Central and the above check process can be used in March to again avoid the service charge.
For the remainder of the balance, per student, we are asking for a $100 or $150 (depending on new or returning, or family cap) participation fee to the Creek Speech Booster 501(c)3 associated with our program. This can be done via:
