What is Speech and debate?

Joining the Beavercreek Speech and Debate team provides students with an amazing opportunity to challenge themselves academically, achieve personal growth, and improve their critical thinking, argumentative, and communications skills. You probably know of many highly successful individuals who participated on their high school speech and debate teams from Oprah Winfrey, Josh Gadd, and Chadwick Boseman to politicians from all backgrounds, Elizabeth Warren, Ted Cruz, and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to The Pope . While joining our team can't guarantee that level of amazing success, our team gives students the resources to reach for any goal. To do this we set high standards, expect dedication, and require excellence. It is our opinion that any member of the team who works hard and applies him or herself will achieve their goals.
