We have had another action-packed week of learning and discovery, starting in Mathematics where we officially finished our unit on multiplication and division—we are now looking forward to jumping into length and perimeter next week! The children have been working incredibly hard on their times tables all term, and we continued this throughout the week with plenty of fun activities to boost our fluency.
In History, our 'History Heroes' have been exploring the fascinating worlds of the Shang Dynasty and Ancient Egypt, and we absolutely LOVED it; we even spent time quizzing our partners on the facts we collected to see who could remember the most! This knowledge was then put to great use in our writing as we crafted balanced arguments to explain how each civilisation impacted the environment through their farming and use of the river.
Our creativity and communication skills were also on full display as we used instruments in Music to create rhythms for different body parts, and in Spanish, we played a brilliant game of 'Guess Who' using our knowledge of animals, colours, and numbers. In Computing, we practiced replying to emails from various characters using a very 'posh' and formal tone, while in PSHE, we focused on empathy by identifying how others might be feeling in different scenarios.
Finally, we enjoyed another energetic session of hockey on the field, wrapping up a week full of growth, powerful voices, and new skills—well done to everyone!
