Stone Age

Lesson 3

INTENT: Children to understand how humans survived in the Stone Age.

IMPLEMENTATION: The children became archaeologists and investigated different artifacts from the Stone Age. They looked at these artifacts to determine what they were used for.

IMPACT: Children now understand how humans survived in the Stone Age.

Lesson 4

INTENT: Children to understand what everyday life was life in the Stone Age.

IMPLEMENTATION: Children were given the task of comparing life in the Stone Age to modern day life. They discussed what types of jobs people have now in comparison to back then, along with different tools that were used and what people's houses were made out of.

IMPACT: Children were able to identify Stone Age jobs.

Romans Times

INTENT: To understand how the Roman Empire was ruled.

IMPLEMENTATION: Children watched and listened to information on some important Roman leaders. They then designed their own 'Top Trumps' game based on the information they have been given. Tecaher will laminate the cards for the children to play Roman Emperor Top Trumps during wet plays!

IMPACT: Children understand the impact different Roman leaders had and how they ruled the empire.

INTENT: To explain how the Roman Empire has impacted Britain today

IMPLEMENTATION: Children watched some videos to show how many of our everyday occurrences have been inspired by Roman inventions. Children then researched on ipads and presented back to the rest of the class.

IMPACT: Children now know and understand how historical inventions impact our lives today.
