Banksy Printing
INTENT:
To create prints in the style of Banksy.
IMPLEMENTATION:
Children used carbon paper to create Banksy prints. Children understood the importance of focusing on areas of light and shade when doing this. They used Banksy artwork and placed these on top of carbon paper which was on top of their sketchbooks. They then traced over the Banksy artwork to create their own print of this.
IMPACT:
Children were able to create their on Banksy prints using carbon paper.
INTENT:
To create print using foil.
IMPLEMENTATION:
Children covered a piece of card in foil and created a light paint wash across the foil. They then used a cotton bud to etch out the Clifton Suspension Bridge. They then placed a piece of paper on top of this and pressed it to create a simple one colour print.
IMPACT:
Children understand the stages involved in printing and were able to create their own Bristol themed print.

INTENT: To sketch Stone Age animals using charcoal.
IMPLEMENTATION: Children recapped what sketching is and how to sketch and then used charcoal to sketch Stone Age animals.
IMPACT: Children were able to use charcoal to sketch Stone Age animals in their sketch books.

INTENT: To create a mixed media Stone Age cave painting.
IMPLEMENTATION: Children used the skills and knowledge they learnt this term to create a Stone Age painting using their watercolour wash backgrounds from Lesson 2 and charcoal to sketch and shade animals/people. All children told a story through their Stone Age painting.
IMPACT: Children were able to create fantastic Stone Age cave paintings as their final piece.

INTENT: To create a final sketch using different tints and tones.
IMPLEMENTATION: The children began by learning about the Mona Lisa and her significance. They then recapped previous sketching techniques learnt in prior lessons. The children completed their own sketches and finished with a gallery walk to review and reflect on each other’s work.
IMPACT: Children developed confidence in using varied sketching techniques, and encouraged critical thinking and through observation and reflection of their own and others work.
