Welcome to creative writing. This is a writing course where you have the opportunity to express yourself in creative ways and stretch your imagination, intellect, and person through the exploration of art. Writing creatively is an art form, and in this class you will work to learn and/or hone techniques of language in order to express yourself effectively. We will strive to do as my friend, the poet Spencer Reece, once told me: “to be impeccable with your word and create a beautiful dream.” This is a skills based class designed to increase your abilities within the writing process, clarity of language, organization, use of details, and your ability to write across several genres.
