Welcome to AP Literature and Composition. This year-long, college-level course seeks to help each student progress as a critical reader, thinker, and  writer. The skills developed in this course will assist each individual in every course of study and in every arena of citizenship. Each student will also have a chance to take the College Board AP Language and Composition exam in May. Depending on the college or university, students can receive college credit (usually with a minimum score of a three or four).  Although preparation for the test in May is an important part of this class, it will not be the course focus. Rather, we will spend our time developing skills to become more intelligent readers, effective writers, and mature critical thinkers.
