The following courses are taught in Spanish as required for a 50/50 Dual Language (English/Spanish) Model. Courses taught in English are included on the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Course Pages
SPANISH LITERACY - 6th Year Long Course (#LAN699)
In this course, students will develop of their Spanish reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities. They will continue to improve reading comprehension and articulate their ideas clearly and thoughtfully in Spanish. Students will also engage in various writing tasks for different audiences, practice the stages of the writing process, and produce written work that adheres to Common Core State Standards.
SPANISH SOCIAL STUDIES - 6th Year Long Course (#SOC610)
This course follows the same social studies standards as 6th Grade Social Studies, but will be taught in Spanish. Students will use read, write, and communicate in Spanish during this course.
SPANISH PHYSICAL EDUCATION/HEALTH - 6th Semester Long Course (#PHE620)
This course follows the same physical education and health standards as 6th grade PE/Health, but will be taught in Spanish. Students will be encouraged to speak Spanish during this course.
ART, LANGUAGE, and CULTURE - 6th Semester Long Course (#FAR120)
Students will travel to Mexico, South America, and more without leaving the classroom! Exploring art and artists across the globe, students will create projects inspired by the artists and heritage of various countries. Instruction given in Spanish.

SPANISH HERITAGE - 8th Semester Long Course (#FLA103)
Celebrate your Latinx heritage and improve your Spanish skills alongside other Spanish speaking students with shared experiences. Class will include reading in Spanish via Free choice reading, literary circles, and class novels. Writing in Spanish through spelling and practical writing skills, and exploring culture and identity through celebrations, Latinx history, and current events! This is a space to be you and embrace your cultural and linguistic identity.
