All 7th Grade PE/Health Courses are Semester-Long Classes - One course required per year
Dual Language 7th GRADE PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH* (#PHE700)
The goal of this course is for students to improve their fitness and develop skills to support them as they participate in games and activities. In Health, students will learn information that can guide them to make healthy decisions for themselves. The focus of this course is to increase awareness for responsible actions and decisions relating to student health. Instruction is given in Spanish.
LIFETIME FITNESS (#PHE100)
This course introduces students to a variety of individual sports and activities they can enjoy throughout adulthood. Unlike traditional team sports, this class focuses on skills and habits that promote lifelong physical and mental well-being. Students will learn proper techniques for activities such as badminton/pickleball, resistance training, walking and yoga, as well as foundational mobility training. In addition, we will cover key health topics to provide students with the knowledge to make healthy choices. Our goal is to create a calm, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can develop healthy habits.
SPORTS & FITNESS (#PHE610)
Get ready for action in Middle School Team Sports! This dynamic course introduces students to a variety of popular team sports, emphasizing skill development, strategic thinking, and the importance of teamwork. Through active participation in sports like basketball, volleyball, soccer, and flag football, students will learn fundamental techniques, game rules, and offensive and defensive strategies. MIND AND MOVEMENT (#PHE120)
Discover your inner strength and focus in Mind and Movement! This unique course integrates physical activity with mindfulness practices to enhance both physical and mental well-being. Students will explore activities alongside techniques for stress reduction, concentration, and emotional regulation. By connecting the mind and body, this class empowers students with valuable tools for self-awareness, resilience, and a balanced approach to a healthy lifestyle.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING (#PHE130)
Build a strong foundation for lifelong fitness in Fitness and Beginning Weights. This class blends cardio, bodyweight exercises, and a safe introduction to basic weightlifting, emphasizing proper form and safety. Students will learn fitness principles, set personal goals, and gain confidence while developing healthy exercise habits.
