Mr. Lehman- Like the rest of the department, I am teaching basic Physical Education this semester. I graduated from BEHS in 1995 and moved on to PLU for my undergraduate degree. There I majored in Health and Fitness with a minor in Biology. In 2005 I earned a Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the United States Sports Academy in Alabama. I have coached many sports here at BEHS and spend a lot of time supervising the weight room. I am currently the FFCA President/ Burlington chapter.
Windy Lovejoy-I have taught P.E. and Health at Burlington Edison High School for 13 years. I recieved my B.S. from San Francisco State Univeristy and Masters in Sports Administration from United States Sports Academy in Alabama. I'm also the girls head wrestling coach and throws coach.
Mr. Avila- I am currently in my fourth year here at Burlington-Edison High School. This year, I am teaching three general Physical Education classes, along with one section of our new Character Strong class next quarter. I graduated from B-EHS in 2006 and received my bachelors and masters degree from Central Washington University. Outside of my teaching duties, I am currently an assistant coach in both our baseball and football programs, as well as the lead trainer for our Natural Helpers program on campus. The unique challenges of remote learning provided our PE department with the unique opportunity to collaborate more than ever. Below you will see videos from myself and other teachers within our department. Thank you for being here! Go Tigers!
The Athletic Department is an integral part of the total educational process of Burlington-Edison Schools. Being involved in athletics provides our students with opportunities to develop leadership skills and to learn the ideals of fair play and ethical behavior which are necessary for competition and cooperation in our society. It should also provide our students with the unique opportunities for self‐discipline, self‐sacrifice, and loyalty to the community, the school and the team.
