This section is for things that don’t neatly fit anywhere else on the site. It'll mostly feature excerpts of lore I’m working on, inspirations I’ve come across, concepts for new stories, and the meanings and metaphors I want them to carry. I’ll also post updates about rewrites, audio versions of stories I’ve already written, and more. Enjoy.
I’ve always loved history, especially ancient myths and legends, but modern history has been growing on me too. Witchbreed is mainly inspired by two eras: the American Wild West and ancient Greek mythology. These influences are the most obvious, but many others (big and small) are woven into the world as well. If you'd like to see some of the lesser known historical inspirations behind Witchbreed. Check out the inspiration and influence page.
Before the stories, the tarot cards, the art, and the fans, Witchbreed actually began as an idea for a tabletop RPG. While that project’s been on the back burner for a while, some characters and items still have mechanics designed for them, so if you’re looking to bring a little Witchbreed flair to your next roleplay session, your prayers have been answered.
Here you can find some of my early thoughts for a story that explores what the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. There's a few big and small changes I would like to put in my version so this is a loose collection of those ideas, a brain-dump about what it would mean to chase love even when your bones ache and your hands can’t quite play the song the way they used to.
