THE GATE
In Witchbreed, the gate is debated as either a divine link to godhood, a sign of evolution, or a neutral trait. Many view it as a test from the Father, with those failing the test seen as corrupted and dangerous. This belief has led to the persecution of individuals with active gates. Gate Manipulation uses scientific methods to control Gates in both Witchbreeds and non-Witchbreeds. It relies on two main substances: Bourus and Arkane.
Some view the gate as the final link between humanity and the divine, a conduit through which man may ascend to the stature of gods or titans. Others, embracing a more pragmatic view, see those with active gates as heralds of a new evolutionary stage, destined to guide and protect the powerless. Conversely, some regard the gate as a neutral aspect of an individual, neither enhancing nor diminishing their inherent worth.
However, a significant number within the major cities of Herspia perceive the gate as a trial imposed by the Father, a divine test of character and therefore They maintain that those of weak moral fibre will succumb to temptation and allow the demonic forces beyond the gate to corrupt their being, rendering them impure and a danger to the sanctity of life. This kind of thinking has been used to justify the hunting, capture and imprisonment of Witchbreed.

In cases where the gate is active, it typically remains dormant until the individual reaches puberty. Upon activation, the gate serves as a conduit between the body and other realms or dimensional planes of pure energy.
The process by which energy from these realms interacts with the biological and metaphysical makeup of the individual is complex and still not fully understood. However, it is clear that the gate plays a crucial role in facilitating this interaction, acting almost like a specialized organ designed to harness and regulate this otherworldly energy. It is important to approach the study of the gate with an objective and unbiased perspective. The potential of these individuals, when properly understood and integrated, could offer significant advancements and insights into the nature of life, energy, and the universe itself.

Activation of these gates is not merely a biological occurrence but a spiritual and moral challenge. It is a sign of the Father’s judgment upon the individual, marking them for scrutiny. Those of weak moral character, lacking in faith and resolve, will inevitably succumb to the allure of these otherworldly powers.
They defy the natural order and pose a grave danger to the sanctity of life as ordained by the Father. These abilities are not to be admired or envied but condemned as evidence of moral decay and spiritual waywardness. Thus, Witchbreeds are not merely individuals with peculiar abilities but threats to the very fabric of our society. They are tainted souls, misled and deceived, who must be purified for the greater good. Only through vigilance and steadfast devotion can we safeguard our world from the corruption that lurks beyond the gate.
