Welcome to the Bulldog Jazz Band!

Jazz Band is an after school club that meets twice a week. The jazz band is open to any student but is geared towards second and third year band students. 2024-2025 was our inaugural year and we are very excited to return for this school year. We have openings in all sections of the band, but are especially in need of the following players: Drum Kit, Electric Guitar, Piano, Trumpet. Other instruments in the band include: Bass Guitar, Trombone, Saxophone (All types), as well as any non-traditional jazz instrument (Flute, Clarinet, F Horn, Baritone, Tuba)

First Rehearsal - September 23rd

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:50 - 3:45

What is Jazz Band?

The term Jazz Band is used loosely in our setting. We play in a big-band style set up but play all genres including Blues, Funk, Swing, Pop, and Rock. We rehearse each week, focusing on learning new and old tunes which we perform on our semester concerts. Jazz band members also have the opportunity to compete in Jazz All-Region and Jazz MPA, similar to regular All-District and Concert Band MPA. Dates for these events are TBA but generally occur in February and March.
