JROTC arms cadets with real life skills that students will need after leaving high school. The program also enhances scholarship applications to obtain higher education.
All AC Reynolds High School students have the opportunity to earn college ROTC scholarships in any branch of service or appointment to one of the service academies.
Generally speaking, college ROTC scholarships pay for either tuition or room and board and any college/university with an ROTC program for the respective branch of service. Cadets also receive monthly stipends and a book allowance.
The service academies provide a fully funded college education.
In both cases, cadets graduate as commissioned officers in the designated branch, with guaranteed career placement and a starting base salary of over $42K per year.
