Instructors yell like drill sergeants in boot camp.
I will have to wear a uniform everyday.
JROTC is not like boot camp! We have a lot of fun!
Cadets wear a military style uniform twice per month.
You are required to enlist in the armed services after JROTC
Participation does not obligate you to join any armed service.
JROTC will prevent me from participating in sports or other clubs.
Taking JROTC is a 4 year commitment.
Many Cadets participate in sports or other clubs.
JROTC is an elective. You only need to take 4 semesters if it is your academic concentration.
"JROTC helped me build a strong foundation as a mission-oriented and understanding leader, which has assisted me from college to law school and in my career as a young professional. Being a cadet developed my self-confidence when speaking in large groups, as well as my ability to lead and motivate a small staff. JROTC impressed on me the values of respect, integrity, and humility in professional environments."
- Nikolai Wise, Class of 2017
"I would recommend JROTC to everyone because It’s one of the classes in high school that offers real life skills."
- Logan Brown, Class of 2022
"JROTC taught me how to be able to involve others and have successful planning in a group. It is a class where you learn valuable life lessons and you also make good friends."
- Current LET 4 Cadet
"I recommend the program because it gives you a chance to become a better leader, a better citizen, and you find your people. The people I met this year in ROTC feel like a second family to me."
- Current LET 3 Cadet
"JROTC has made me a better citizen, because It's given me more leadership skills and made me feel more confident when it comes to talking to others."
