PD Session: Using i-Ready Data to Plan Instruction
Date: Tuesday, October 26

1. Analyze the Diagnostic Results using the PAIR protocol
2. Review Data Chat Templates/Batch printing options to discuss data
3. Plan Scaffolded Instruction with i-Ready Reading and Math Tools
Please instruct your educators to:
1. Log in on their own device—if possible, even if sharing a room with grade level teams
2. Know how to log into i-Ready through ClassLink
3. Bring upcoming standard/topic for Math and/or ELA Instruction

Where does the next diagnostic begin?
If a student has never completed an i-Ready Diagnostic, the assessment starts one grade level below the student’s chronological grade.
*If the student has previously completed an i-Ready Diagnostic, the assessment begins near their last overall scale score from their previous assessment. from Test Flow FAQ
What domains are tested first on the Reading diagnostic?
The diagnostic begins with Vocabulary, Literary Texts, and Informational Texts. If the student scored below 511 at that point, they will then get the Phonics, High Frequency Words, etc.. from Test Flow FAQ
How are students' personalized lesson pathways affected by diagnostic #2?
The diagnostic may trigger a few changes to the lesson path - jumping ahead, moving back, or staying the course. Lesson Paths
What's the correlation with national norms and i-Ready?
On Class and Student reports, you can see a percentile for national norms, There are also tables for fall, winter, and spring diagnostic scores (by grade level) that indicate the national percentile rank for a given score. National Norms for K-8 math and ELA
i-Ready syncs with Google Classroom. Does it sync with Schoology?
No. You can save PDFs and upload to Schoology though.
What's the easiest way to search the Teacher Toolbox for a specific keyword or topic?
Use CTRL + F on your keyboard.
What's the difference between typical growth and stretch growth goals?
Typical growth is a goal that 100% of students can be expected to meet (based on data from millions of students).
Stretch growth is achieved by 25-35% of students.
What happens to students' personalized pathways when I assign interactive tutorials to them?
Teacher-assigned lessons are added to their pathway. You will want to create protocols with your students for how to check for a teacher-assigned lessons and complete it.
