MMS Reading Plan for 21-22
Goal:
By May 2022, 100% of ELA teachers at Macedonia Middle will collaborate with their students to set reading goals using data from the i-Ready Reading Diagnostic.
Action Steps:
Following the first administration of the i-Ready Reading Diagnostic, ELA teachers will collaborate with students to create goals for growth in reading.
After each screener administration, teachers and students will track progress and update goals as needed.
The instructional coach and administration will continue to provide school-wide support and resources for teaching goal-setting as a part of the BCSD Work & Life skills, South Carolina Profile of a Graduate Competency Continua, and teachers’ Student Learning Objectives.
Through PLCs, coaching, and district professional development, teachers will learn about and use i-Ready as a progress-monitoring, goal-setting, and instructional tool.
Grade-level PLCs and the school SDSS/MTSS team will work together to create action plans for students who need additional interventions.
