Q: I cannot remember how to log into my City Schools/ Zoom account. Can I get help?
A: Please use these guidelines: How to Access a City Schools Zoom Meeting
Q: What should I do if I need help with my password and login?
A: Please call the OIT Service Support center at 443-642-3000. They can assist with password resets and troubleshooting login issues.
Q: Will I need my work laptop to attend PL?
A: Yes, your work device will allow you to connect to the network and access all the district's apps.
Q: Is registration required?
A: Yes, all City Schools’ employees must register for the courses prior to attending. Registration data allows our facilitators better prepare for the courses, so that they can support their participants’ needs. All educators are expected to register by 11:59 pm on the evening prior to the scheduled Professional Learning date.
Q: Can educators log into virtual Professional Learning and the morning virtual opening from home?
A: All City Schools’ employees must engage in any virtual options at school sites.
Q: Will there be parking at the content sites?
A: Since we are using school buildings as Professional Learning host sites, we know that parking may be a challenge. We ask for your patience and understanding. Please use the schools’ parking lots and nearby streets, and be sure to avoid parking in restricted spaces. Teachers attending Professional Learning at Poly/Western campus are asked to carpool.
Q: Do I need to turn my camera on during virtual learning?
A: Yes, all facilitators and participants of any virtual learning session will be required to have their cameras on. This is a part of the virtual learning etiquette and employees’ professional responsibilities. Simply put, it is a matter of collegiality and professional respect: being engaged, present, and avoiding multitasking and distractions makes any virtual learning a better use of everyone’s time! This rule does not apply to the morning virtual openings.
Q: Will lunch be provided?
A: Due to partnership shortages, food trucks may not be available at every host school site. Please see the ‘Locations’ page for more information. To help ensure participants remain refreshed and energized throughout the day, we encourage everyone to bring their own lunch and/or snacks as appropriate.
Q: I am a substitute teacher. Can I attend Systemic Professional Learning?
A: Yes! Please browse the offered courses and look for “All Educators” in the Differentiation tag. You are also welcome to attend courses designated for Paraprofessionals.
