Grounded in a shared commitment to high-quality, equitable instruction for all learners, the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) and the Professional Learning (PL) leadership team implement an integrated approach to systemic professional learning for the 2025–2026 school year. This approach aims to better equip PreK–12 educators to meet diverse learner needs across the four core content areas.
Key Update for November Systemic PL Day
New Structure for ELD and Special Educators/Specially Designed Instruction (SDI)
Flexibility to attend one content session (AM or PM) of their choice.
Attend their required ELD or SDI session during the alternate half of the day at the same location.
Example:
An 8th grade ELD teacher may attend a Science session in the morning and the ELD session in the afternoon (or vice versa); both sessions are offered Dunbar HS.
Scheduling:
ELD and SDI sessions will be offered both AM and PM to support flexibility.
Registration:
Browse the Professional Learning Arcs catalog (below) to find two Learning Arcs for the year. Then, search for the Arc Title in KickUP and register. IMPORTANT: by registering for the November session, you will be automatically registered for the February and May sessions within the series/arc.
Please note: ELD teachers who work exclusively with PK MLs will be invited to attend PL utilizing the same structure; however, this will be by invitation only.
