SEL Warm Up: "Some Things Change, Some Things Stay the Same"

IMG_3213.mov

When we have a lot of changes it can be scary and confusing! But... some things never change! Like how your teachers and family care for you! Watch this video and think of some things have stayed the same for you. Could music be one of those things?

Today, we're going to focus on how art connects with mindfulness. We can do this together as a family or by yourself!

How does mindfulness help us find our calm? Monica Caluda, Baer's Music Therapist will lead us in a music therapy intervention that examines socio-emotional learning for elementary-aged children. Mindfulness helps us focus on one thing at a time and this helps us find our calm.

Land Art Explorations

There are so many ways you can make art outside as a family! Look at how these artists made art from nature walks. Walks promote mindfulness because we focus on what is in front of us and then the details as they appear down the road. Every step we take changes the space we enter. How can we transform the space around us in small ways?
