CHURCH STREET

Church Street and the parallel Searle Lane in Queenstown had recently had a major development with offices, a backpackers and ground floor F&B retail constructed along it. The adjacent streets were in need of a make over to consolidate the modern new buildings. Baxter Design were commissioned to design the new streetscape reprofiling the existing car parks and increasing the pedestrian areas along the popular thoroughfare.

Church Street runs from Lake Wakatipu to Camp Street and has many of the most popular cafes, restaurants and night clubs in Queenstown generating near 24 hour use. Searle Lane was a narrow delivery access only lane. It is now a popular day time pedestrian area with a new outdoor cafe area.
