BRECON STREET

The Brecon Street Steps replaced a series of ramps and street that serviced the original shops and flats. The construction of the Sofitel Hotel required a rethink of this entire space. For historic reasons a ramp was incorporated as well as providing egress for pram and elderly access to Man Street. An accessible ramp to the Lone Star front door dictated a ramp on the southern side and presented levels challenges for the design team.

Baxter Design received a national NZILA award for this design.
