Baxter Design is an energetic team of landscape architects involved with many high profile projects throughout the Southern Lakes region, Central Otago and other main centres throughout New Zealand. Baxter Design has also worked on projects in Australia and some Pacific Islands as well.
Baxter Design Group, now Baxter Design, was established in 1998 by Paddy Baxter and Jeff Brown. Baxter Design is staffed with a collaborative team of landscape architects, CAD staff, designers and an office manager.
Paddy has an extensive landscape architecture background including 10 years working for a large practice designing resort and urban spaces throughout New Zealand. At present Baxter Design's job list covers large scale tourism and development projects throughout New Zealand as well as public spaces such as town centre projects and urban design.
We enjoy working with as part of a collaborative team alongside a variety of architectural firms, artists and sculptors. At Baxter Design we provide innovative design solutions to projects in a wide range of environments, and we take pride in shaping the New Zealand landscape for the future.
Paddy Baxter, and Baxter Design, has received several awards during the course of his career including major NZILA awards for the Queenstown Village Green, Millbrook Resort and a National Award for Blanket Bay Lodge. In April 2013 Baxter Design Group won an “NZILA Award of Excellence” for the Remarkables Primary School landscaping design. More recently Baxter Design has won an “Outstanding Design” award from the NZILA for the Cromwell Town Centre Upgrade.
