Science
Science will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for one hour.
Students will work in groups for their science explorations and activities. Foss kits are used.
Evaluation: For each activity or exploration, the student will complete their own data sheet and write their own explanations using the needed vocabulary words. When creating models, students evaluation will be based on completing all requirements including greatness and accuracy.
Students read information from their textbooks and the Super Science magazine.
1-2 mini research projects and 1 major research project (Archaeology) will be completed.
Use chrome books to access / use science sites
Fall Science Focus: land forms, weathering / erosion, rocks, fossils
Winter Science Focus: magnets, electricity, waves - light, sound
Spring Science Focus: archaeology, leaf classification, circulatory system (plant), brain, heart, respiratory system, life cycle.
For the absent student: Please know you will need to make up any project, or experiment on your own time after school in order to receive a grade. Please remember to follow the CAM policy for late work. Any work turned in after these timelines will be considered late and will affect your grade. Please make arrangements with your teacher to stay after school to make up any science work if you cannot do it at home.
