At RHL - Math is a Shared Subject - I have your student in class 2 days a week, you have them 3 days a week, so this means I am the 40% teacher, you are the 60% teacher. So partnership is very important.
Things you can do as their Math Teacher:
Sit with them during at home lessons and teach concepts, as needed.
Watch videos and look at examples together
Assist them with Lessons/Homework and Practice, as needed
Give Feedback and Corrections as needed - Answer Keys provided
Provide more practice/Re-teach concept if needed using resources
Help your student turn in weekly assignments.
Reach out if student is struggling or falling behind.
Things I will do as your child's math teacher:
Review assessment results for strengths and weaknesses and provide suggestions for next steps.
Provide weekly opportunities for problem solving, or other activities that include engagement with peers in order to have discourse around math.
Provide weekly math activities and assignments related to concepts in weekly work.
Provide alternative supports for ways to understand concepts, including extra practice, mini lessons, videos, small groups and one-on-one, as needed and available.
Provide assessment opportunities to monitor progress and provide feedback.
Below is the what partnership in the classroom looks like...
