We will be updating this page regularly in line with Government guidance so please check back periodically.
We have put in place a number of important health and safety measures which all graduates and guests must follow:
- There will be a strict two guest per graduate rule. This limit will include children of any age. This is to ensure we do not exceed a safe capacity of people on campus and allow for social distancing inside the venues where the events will be held.
- Graduates and guests (aged 18 years and over) will be asked to either:
show proof of vaccination (NHS COVID Pass) on arrival. Please note that if you have had your second vaccination jab in the past fortnight, please take a LFT test as well, as you will not be issued with a COVID Pass until the vaccination is fully effective. Proof of vaccination can be provided in a number of ways, as outlined by the NHS,
show proof of a negative lateral flow test (LFT) or PCR test (within 48 hours) on arrival by showing a text or email (your test results will need to be reported to the NHS and proof shown on arrival at campus for your Graduation Celebration Event - please note that a test kit cannot be accepted as proof). Graduates and guests should take an LFT or PCR before travelling and only attend the graduation event if they have a negative test result. LFT kits can be ordered for free home delivery, or
self-declare that they are medically unable to be certified or tested.
- All graduates, guests and staff will be asked to wear a face covering (unless they are exempt), and maintain social distance.
- The University reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who does not comply with these measures which are in place to ensure the health and safety of all graduates, guests and University staff.
Further to these measures, we will also be doing the following:
There will be a one-way system in place on routes across the campus. Please follow the signs.
In the Marquees, we will be seating graduates and any guests in bubbles of up to three (graduate with their guest(s)).
Between each celebration event we will be using fogging machines to refresh the air inside each celebration Marquee.
There will be hand gel dispensers at the entrance to each building/Marquee which we encourage graduates, guests and staff members to use regularly during the day.
Toilet and communal area cleaning and other contact points (e.g. doors) - there will be a regular cleaning schedule in place throughout each graduation celebration event day.
Track & trace - there will be track and trace QR codes available for graduates, guests and staff to log their attendance at the campus events.
The Risk Assessment for these events can be found below:
It is also important to note that the University reserves the right to cancel any or all of the graduation celebration events up to 48 hours in advance should circumstances mean it is not safe for the events to go ahead. We would only take this step if Covid cases surge dramatically or a new variant of concern becomes widespread.
