Portfolios compile your work in a similar way to how magazines collate editorial. Magazines have a distinct look, repeating formats to create a cohesive whole. Every element, be it font, the colours used, or the layout of images and text is thought about.

Note: If using a unique font, please remember this when sharing your work, as if the person you are sharing the file with does not have this font it will be substituted...
If using Photoshop, convert the text to an object by going to Menu Bar > Type > Create Shapes. Another way would be to save the file as a Jpeg will convert the font to an image (meaning it will not be editable).
If using Illustrator, convert the text to an object by going to Menu Bar > Type > Create Outlines.
Please note that many of the fonts available are free for personal use only, and not professional use (i.e if you are working for a company).
