In kindergarten, students worked in teams to tackle a fun challenge. They learned the importance of teamwork by communicating, sharing ideas, and encouraging each other. After completing the task, they reflected on key skills used, such as cooperation and critical thinking, which helped them succeed and strengthen their friendships.

At our school, our 5th grade Buddy System is all about connection, leadership, and learning together! 👫💬 5th graders apply to be buddies and partner with our younger friends to build relationships, model positive behavior, and support learning. Sometimes, our younger friends even get to read to their 5th grade buddies—everyone learns, everyone grows! 📚💛
April Classroom Lesson
This month, our classroom counseling lesson focused on stress management and the important message that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed sometimes. Students learned that everyone experiences stress, and what matters most is how we choose to handle it.
We explored a variety of calm down strategies—from deep breathing and counting to taking a break or talking to a trusted adult. Each student had the opportunity to contribute by writing their personal calm down strategy on a petal for their class’s “Calm Down Flower,” symbolizing how we all bring something unique and helpful to our classroom community.
It was an awesome lesson that sparked great conversations! The students especially loved hearing what their classmates do to manage tough moments and feeling proud to share their own ideas. 🌸💬
