This was Alises first plan, She had some pretty cool adaptations, then we had a little talk about making new adaptations that were never made
We all decided that we were trying to go for a "rain forest" like habitat, we liked the idea of having humid weather, with waterfall
Ella's first plan was had some unique adaptions, we really liked the idea of adding poison and stinging features.
I likes and I wonders are a good way of critiquing other peoples work, we talked about all the things we liked and any questions we had.
We tried to come up with adaptions never used ever, and we did we thought about MRSGREN which helped us create them.
We did more researching on the animals that matched with our habitat we mostly found amphibians.
Report
The Double Headed Jelly Glider (Geminus Senes Gelata Glider) is one of the rarest amphibians on Planet X. The reason why it's called The Double Headed Jelly Glider is because if you saw it on planet X the texture of the body would be like raspberry jelly.
Appearance
These fascinating creatures have very distinctive adaptations, like the double headed jelly glider, which has a huge poisonous spike on its back that will kill you in a second if it touches anything living. It also has features like huge eyes that can see in the dark and helps it see better underwater. They have features like 2 breathing holes that help them breathe better underwater. They've got bright yellow and green tiny speckles that show other creatures that they area danger to the environment. The Double Headed Jelly Glider is a light pink colour with a green tongue. The tongue is very special and has stinging features, if you touch it you will be very badly injured. One side of the head is a female and the other is male. You can tell which head is a male and which side is female because of the tongue. The girl tongue is a lot lighter colour than the males.
Adaptations
The Double headed jelly glider has so many cool adaptations. Like little sticky grippers on the bottom of their hands. That helps them grip well onto rocks and climb better up trees and steep surroundings. The double headed Jelly Glider is very very poisonous, it has tiny yellow spots that mark as a warning symbol to other animals that they are dangerous. They have very big dark blue eyes, to help them see underwater. They also have light yellow gliders under their arms to help them glide through the water. They have a long tongue that can sting you.
Habitat
These fancy little creatures live in rain forest environments, humid, and damp. They are mainly found in the rocks behind waterfalls, but can also be found in small lakes and around rain forest bushes. You could find the double headed jelly glider hiding in small places. For example in cracks of small rocks, mainly in the rocks behind waterfalls. They can also be found in small lakes and ponds but you wouldn't see them in there very often!
Diet
The double headed jelly glider is a herbivore so it eats things like plants, leaves, bushes and other things but its main food source is a flower called the sun blossom which is very rare. But since the sun blossom is so rare, it can be extinct at any time which can be a problem considering this flower is a huge part of their diet. To eat this flower they suck on the flower pollen, then once the pollen is all gone they spit out the rest of the flower. They are the only animals that can eat this flower because they are filled with toxic chemicals that other animals cant digest
Reproduction
When the double headed jelly glider is born. They only have one half of a body. To get one full animal they have to find another half then they join together. The mum will have 20 eggs at a time but it's not guaranteed all the eggs will survive birth. When one half of these fascinating creatures die the other living half can split off the dead one and find a new mate, this is easy for them because they only have 32 organs! But if the gender is the same they will both die.
These well adapted creatures are one of a kind, so one of a kind that they are almost extinct. In fact there is only 73 left on the whole planet due to lack of heat and a mate.
