Timpolar
Timpolar
Liam's first sketch and planing
Liam's first design idea was that he took inspiration from a snow monster with big arms and legs and an angry face. He had a giant and very ugly nose. He wasn't scary or Instantiating and had lots of spikes and he had abs and very big eyes and 2 tails
final design
This is our final design it is and alligator like dinosaur it has lots of spikes and claws it has a scorpion sorta tail that will strangle around the enemy and inject poison from the tail into its prey it has large eyes that can see in the dark and super sharp tail it is albino so it can camouflage, it is very strong so it can take down lots of its prey.
Abbie's first sketch and planing
This is Abbie's first design idea. She took inspiration from the trip to the animal attic. She took some adaptations from the polar animals. Some of its features involve thick layer of blubber, sharp teeth and big eyes that can see in the dark.
Timpolar
The Timpolar known by its scientific name Impolartay, it is a large reptile, class Reptilia, they are from the Crocodilia group which comprises of animals such as: crocodiles and alligators. Timpolar are like an alligator and have dinosaur like features. They live on land and water and are vertebrates. The Timpolar is an apex predator which means they don’t have any predators hunting them. This animal can be found in the depths of the polar region. Timpolar are found alone in the glowing ice caves. Timpolars life span is up to 100-200 years.
Timpolar are albino due to the absence of melanin. They have layers and layers of scales covering their entire body which are white, but different shades depending on where they are in their environment. Timpolar have four legs that have papillae and 5 sharp claws (4 at the front and 1 at the back) this is to keep their feet warm and to help them grip the ice. They have a scorpion-like tail with a stinger on the end that works exactly like a scorpion, they use the tail to inject poison and to stun prey, it also is really bendy. Their very sharp teeth and tusks helps them to eat their prey with ease. Timpolar have large razor sharp and pointy spikes along their back. These spikes are to help protect them from large rocks falling and from icebergs. They also have large eyes to help them see at night. Timpolar are very big animals fully grown they are about 2 metres in length with the tail being 1 meter of this. They are not very tall being about 70cm in height (off the ground). They are very heavy with a male weighing approximately 200-270 Kgs.
Timpolar live in the polar region in the depths of a glowing ice cave. The temperature their habitat gets around is about 3 to -29 degrees. The glow is caused by the reflection of blue neon rocks covering the walls. The cave floats and is surrounded by freezing cold water which in some areas form icebergs. The cave has a lookout on the top enabling the Timpolar to watch and wait for its prey to come near. There are fish in the waters near their cave so they can eat fish whenever they feel hungry. There is a strip of land behind the cave which they adventure to at night.
Timpolar spends most of its time during the day relaxing in water catching food such as fish, seals, penguins and krill. Their albino white scales allow them to camouflage which makes this easier to do.They come up on land at night and turn fierce and ballistic and like to hunt land animals such as the ice bear fox. They are lone animals and will only find a mate for mating season which happens once a year. Once they give birth to a single offspring they push them out of the cave to fend for themselves.
The Timpolar is a truly fascinating creature living in the polar region. Its spikes, its weapon-like tail, sharp teeth and ability to camouflage make it something you wouldn't want to come face to face with. Although it is a creature worth studying from a distance.
