Resources

You should select relevant and reliable information from a variety of sources to develop your project. The number and type of resources will vary depending upon the nature of the project; however, to reach the highest levels of achievement through investigating, you must select a range of sources and a variety of source types. You should check the reliability of these sources by considering factors such as the credibility of the author, currency, accuracy, relevance, intended audience and objectivity of the source (OPVL). Relevant and reliable information from a variety of sources will be necessary in order to demonstrate your information literacy skills.

Sources may include your prior knowledge, as well as primary and secondary sources such as: subject-area content, significant people, survey data, published media, internet resources, video or audio recordings, and images. These should all be included in your Work Cited page.

You will need to select sources during the initial stage of your project, but research and evaluation of sources will continue during the process of completing the project. You will need to show evidence of research so make sure you have a work cited page (MLA) and include a variety of sources, ie book, website, interview, journal, periodical, newspaper, etc are just a few examples.
